October 2009 PRAISE REPORT!!!

We would like to thank you once again for praying for Natalie. Your prayers have been answered!

We had another appointment in Houston yesterday. All the blood tests and the spinal tap have come back with everything normal. Natalie also did another MRI yesterday, and it showed one of the lesions had slightly reduced in size. We met again with Dr. Slopis and Dr. Wolff, and they both are convinced that Natalie does not have a tumor nor Multiple Sclerosis!! They are of the opinion she has ADEM, which is a very rare autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation of the brain. The doctors believe Natalie will fully recover in time without medication. She still gets headaches, which is one of the symptoms of ADEM, however, it should get better over time. Some patients have to take steroids or intravenous immunoglobulin to get better, but they believe Natalie is getting better on her own.

Dr. Slopis also believes she can go to college at Master's in the January, which was great news for Natalie. She is enjoying taking online classes this fall, but is ready and excited to pursue God's path for her there.

We go back in December for another MRI before Natalie goes to school. Hopefully it will be our last time to go to Houston ! Praise God! The Lord has done so much in two months! From hearing she might have a brain tumor to now learning she has ADEM, we are truly amazed and grateful to the Lord's kindness toward us.

Thank you again for your prayers and love during this time. Natalie has grown so much through this trial. The Lord is good.....

8-14-09 Natalie Thompson was diagnosed with a brain tumor last week and is going through multiple tests at Baylor/Dallas to determine the type and treatment needed.

She was about to leave for California to begin her freshman year at college. She is 18 yrs, the oldest child of 8. They are Christians and believing for a miracle.

I ask specifically for: Natalie’s complete healing, continued peace and hope for all the family, and that she is accepted soon for an appointment with Dr. Bruce Mikey from UT SouthWest.

From Natalie's family: We are doing well. We have felt the Lord's peace and rest. Somehow we find ourselves not angry at God, not asking why...... He feel His love and are resting in it. We love Him!

Natalie is doing well. She continues to have the headache and numbness, but other than that she feels fine. She is no longer allowed to drive, so now she has two chauffeurs. :) :) She is at peace. We all cry a lot, but somehow we are not sad. It is hard to explain.
