Believe

When we pray, we should always pray God's Word which is His will and believe that He watches over His Word to perform it. The work is already complete - Jesus died and rose again. He defeated death and hell. Now, all the devil can do is torment us with fear, deception, and lies. He pulls out all of the stops when he knows he's about to lose. It's been said not to give up because when you feel like quitting, your breakthrough is right around the corner! The enemy wreaks havoc in our minds with thoughts of despair and hopelessness and he is such a liar. He is a lion with no teeth. He roars really loud to scare us but he has no bite.

God's Word is full of promises for us to stand on. He tells us to FEAR NOT more than 365 times. That is a different verse for each day of the year. When we confess that Jesus is Lord and ask Him into our hearts, we are forgiven and the righteousness of God is our gift through the blood of Jesus! This means we can boldly approach the throne of grace and stand in our Father's presence any time of the day or night. If we can stand in the presence of God Almighty, we can stand in the presence of the enemy with no fear. He is a defeated foe. God prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies! Psalm 23 is commonly read at funerals but my pastor taught us that IT IS A LIVING WORD! God's Word is LIFE!!!

God is a good God! He does not put sickness on us. Jesus taught us to pray that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. There is no sickness in heaven. People get sick and people die - that doesn't mean God willed it to happen! Bad things happen to good people - we live in a fallen world. God gets blamed for a lot of nonsense that is not His fault.

One of the most famous verses in the bible is where Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus that God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son and that whoever believed in Him would not perish. The Pharisees had seen the miracles and heard the testimonies and still, they did not believe. Jesus said that we must be born again - of the water and of the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. Those who believe in Jesus are not condemned but those who don't believe stand condemned. We don't always read all of the Word - it's important to read it all. God is good and He gave us free will. He will not override our will. It is up to us to make the choice of whether or not to believe. Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction but narrow is the gate that leads to life and only a few find it. This verse follows the ones that tell us to ask, seek, and knock - for when we do, it will be given, found, and opened. It doesn't leave anybody out either - it says everyone who asks, receives! The chapter starts out telling us not to judge - so let's not judge - but let's get this word and put it into practice! Let's build our house upon the rock so we won't be washed away in the storm. We all battle fear and we all doubt at times but the bible warns against both of those things! Fear not and don't doubt! If God is for us, who can be against us? We surely don't want to be double-minded and tossed about in the storm and unstable - not being able to receive from God. No way! ONLY BELIEVE - for ALL things are possible to those who believe! ALL things are possible with God! ALL THINGS!

Please keep this in mind as you pray for healing for these requests - and especially the urgent ones! It may be the difference between life and death.
